The joy of color – openness – expansiveness

When I paint pictures, I apply layers of watercolor or transparent oil paint. This creates an impression of openness. At a later phase of the creative process I sometimes paint with mineral pigments or gouache.

My paintings begin with color gestures; the picture emerges gradually from these gestures. It’s a process that runs intuitively, like a journey.
